Shattering and scattering
And a world comes back
Into itself
World within a world
Memories flood back
Karma or fate
anyways it's the same
And one to die
One to break
To be thankful later
And weep in gratitude
But the ego is a fragile thing
And cracks can be taped up
But their marks remain
Etching and re-etching with fingers
Till the tapes break open
And cracks gape open
But people learn
Things change, we grow
Older, wiser, weaker
For strength is sapped away
When you are a child
When you don't need assurances
When you have your own
World within a world
Shattering and scattering
What comes next?
To do what needs to be done
And live, freely, fully
Not taking advantage,
Not judging, not promoting
Not assuming
A world within a world
A search to find that core
Of contentment, of love, of work
Of focus, of power and will
There is, simply is more to life
Than just this
No need to hide
Or to judge
Or to lie
Or to cry
There is more to life, like hammocks
And the play of afternoon light against trees
And the laughter of a delighted child
And the way an ocean sparkles in the light
How fairy tales exist, if you believe
And the wonders never cease
And treasuring is more important
Than judging and hoarding
Like a miser, analysing and blaming
Work on yourself, since you are
You exist, for you
Therefore you must live
Or die in the pages of a book
Immortal but sad
